Summer must be over. Although the weather here is warm, school has been in session for a month already. College is in full swing, and life is becoming somewhat normal again. I seem to miss the carefree attitude that my friends have when it's summer. It's odd, because we don't really get summer off, but we seem to relish the idea of summer because so many people do get to take extended vacation during the summer. I wonder how it will differ as DD gets older. Will we be those parents who take their children on interminable road trips to see family across the U.S.? Or will we insist on being flying snobs? Will we ship the kidlets off to grandparents for a month so they get a vacation while we slave away?
Does it really matter? Not really, but I wonder.
It makes me a little sad to see summer gone and yet at the same time it's nice to focus on the rest of the year of ministry. I like planning for the Advent season and ministering to the families that step through our doors for this special time of year. It's exciting to see how much kiddo understands as we move through the season again and prepare for a new year.
My SIL has joined us for the school year. I love having her here. It's fun to have another body around to chat to and to do stuff with. I hope and pray she enjoys being here with us as much as we like having her here.
