We did church today. I had to host the main service. Kiddo, Baby Boy, and Hubby came to the minister's room before the service started and I fed Baby Boy. This is what life will look like from now on, I suppose.
Always before, I left before the rest of the family and then my hubby would bring Kiddo to Sabbath School. I would meet them there and we would go to the service together. Perhaps, if I had responsibilities in the service, I would go and take care of that before I joined them to listen to the sermon.
Now, it looks like the way it will work is that Kiddo and I will go to church together. I will take her to Sabbath School after we do the rounds together. Baby Boy and hubby will come when it is time for his Sabbath School class. Hubby will stay with Kiddo while I take Baby Boy for feeding and Sabbath School. I will then hand both kids over to hubby while I do whatever I must do during the service. Finally, I will get to join them, hopefully before the sermon.
After the service hubby will take the kids home while I finish up and we will eventually have lunch together.
It's bizarre, but I don't ever think I imagined my Sabbath would look like this. Several things have led us to this divide and conquer mentality. Most of all, I believe that we settled on this arrangement because I was tired of fighting each morning about being late, who was at fault, or about what took so long to leave. I do believe that part of the devil's plan is to make getting church unpleasant for us. If we can get through Sabbath without annihilating each other we actually have a real opportunity for receiving the blessing God has prepared for us.
So, rather than fight to travel in the same car or do everything together on a Sabbath day, I prefer to do what must be done to preserve the Sabbath for my family and give us all an opportunity for blessings. And amazingly we get the family time we need as a by-product.

I did see you feeding baby boy when the choir was in the hallway before church. I thought "how cute is that" What a special moment. I also thought, "wow! talk about multi tasking...keep up the good work and I am glad that you have found a plan for the day. I do think that the devil works specially hard on Sabbath, and we can't let him do that.
Thank you so much for the support, Lissette.
You continue to AMAZE me!!! God is working through you Janeen, do not let satan ever get a foothold.
I hope this makes the transition into feeling like a peaceful (and normal) routine soon. We think of it in football terms...passing the babies off and running. :) You make a great quarterback and I'll be on your team anytime you need me...except when I'm gone, like last Sabbath. So sorry to miss my opportunity to hold Baby Boy. XOXO.
