The BEST thing!

A few days have past and the glow is still there. I find myself humming, or singing. My children get the benefit of a suitably adjusted perspective. Sabbath was a marvelous day. Busy, but invigorating. I did Early Church, Sabbath School, and Church. We had a quick lunch and got back to the church for the Children's Choir Vespers. It was stunning!
The children sang beautifully. The bell choir played wonderful music. The narrators were composed and well-spoken. But the best by far, were the "little lambs." Yes, it is a biased opinion as Kiddo was a little lamb, but they were amazing. Little children innocently walking down the long aisle to see the baby Jesus. It was stunning in it's simplicity. And, yet reminded me what a deep thing it really is that "all we like sheep [may] have gone astray," but there is hope in the birth of the baby Jesus. If only we set our faces in His direction, we will be drawn to Him. The beauty and simplicity of this particular production of the Messiah has inspired my new attitude to simply "be" in Him, calm down, and share with my children the real reason for the season.
Kiddo and I set up her nativity set this morning and talked about each person as we put them on the table. Later, when she was playing with them - as she always does - she was talking to them and put them all in a "crowd" around Baby Jesus. She's really beginning to understand the whole concept of what Christmas is about. She was so excited to show Lia the tiny baby and that all the people were gathered to see Him.
And, yes, I finally get it - it's really the glimpses that start the HOPE and that gives this Christmas a whole new meaning for me.
So, to you and your family, my wish is that you'll experience the anticipation, hope, and joy of Christ this holiday season. Then we can sing "Hallelujah" together!

I hadn't thought of the lambs that way...but you're right. We need to cultivate the inquisitive, curious, willingness of children. Hope you enjoy your calm Christmas season. (Quakers call it connecting to the 'divine Center'). XOXO
