I hate schedules! In fact I have resisted putting my children eating, sleeping, playing, etc. schedules as long as possible. Opting rather, to try and figure out their natural rhythms. :)
So, the other part of being in school is to be more regulated by schedule than previously. Most of the schedule is set around Emma's school schedule. We get up in our house in time to get Kiddo to school, work while she's in school, pick her up at the right time and then plan supper and bed time around what time she needs to get up for school. Needless to say, things have changed a lot in our home. Good changes, I think.
As we've all attempted to adapt to this "new" life, we've also tried to anticipate some of the additional things we might have to add into our schedule. Each day, Kiddo has come home disappointed that she didn't have homework. On Friday, we got our first homework packet. Yay!
Our project over the weekend has been to decorate her book box which is due on Wednesday. Her real homework is to write a story (with a grown-up's help) and draw a picture with it. This is due on Friday.
So, my plan was to do "crafts" once a day and get bits and pieces of the book box done while we were in Palm Springs taking a few days off. Any finishing touches could be done when we get home.
Aunty Lisa helped Kiddo do her journal on Friday afternoon and we should be all done for this week. I hope!
Now, she'll be sad all week that she doesn't have any more homework, but her mommy is pleased. So many things to remember!

Sounds like you have it all under control. How cute that Kiddo wanted homework.
It just cracks me up when my kindergartners all want homework. Parents thankfully, are not really wanting them to have it, but soo, you come up with something :) for family time :) Hehe, Tell her, she'll make up for the lack of homework now, when she gets to Jr. High and High School, and definitely, she'll make up for it in college! hahaha, yeah, that will work! HA!
I remember being sad about not having homework. HA. I've been curious as to how this schedule regulation has been working itself out.
